SoFi Stadium is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers (NFL) in Inglewood, California. Opened in 2020, it is the most expensive stadium ever built (over $5 billion) and an architectural masterpiece. Its Infinity Screen — a double-sided oval LED display over the field — is the largest in world sport and defines its immersive matchday experience.
History and architecture
Designed by HKS Architects and developed by Stan Kroenke, it sits on a 121-hectare plot that includes a plaza, secondary pitches and retail. Its translucent ETFE canopy lets natural light through. Capacity ranges from 70,240 (NFL) to 100,000 in max-event mode, with expandable space at the American Airlines Plaza. It was designed for multiple uses: NFL, MLS, concerts and international events.
Iconic moments
SoFi Stadium has hosted Super Bowl LVI (Rams beat the Bengals in 2022) and Super Bowl LIX (2025). It hosted the Copa América 2024 final and will host the 2028 Olympic opening ceremony plus 2026 World Cup matches. It has also welcomed Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Beyoncé and BTS in record-breaking runs.
Getting there and matchday tips
Easiest access is by car via the I-405 with official parking inside the complex (book online). On transit, the Metro K Line (Downtown Inglewood station) is a 20-minute walk. Uber/Lyft have a dedicated pickup zone. Arrive 2 hours early: the American Airlines Plaza is the best tailgate experience in the stadium.
Where to sit and what to eat
Lower sideline seats (Field Level 100) offer the closest view. Club Level adds premium lounges and the best line to the Infinity Screen. Suites and Perch VIP include catering by local chefs. The food line-up is exceptional: California BBQ, gourmet tacos, sushi, plant-based and Asian cuisine. Perch Bar and the outdoor plazas are a must-visit.
